Down in KC for the World Cup, killing time between having seen the USA at the Fan Zone the night before, and seeing an actual game the following afternoon, I wandered into Josey Records and was shocked (shocked!) to find so many records I wanted that didn't make me grumble like an old man about how expensive records have gotten these days (which I often do, I am embarrassed to say, semi-audibly most times I flip through records at a shop). I don't think I'd heard this record before; I really only bought it in part because I remembered Aaron telling me he liked it, and because it was an old VMP release, and it felt almost nostalgic to see one of their records from back when they did good work.
(As it turns out, I like this record: generous dollops of pillowy reverb liberally applied in just the right places, good songwriting, a really strong side A. And the vinyl has a nice pink/blue split color, which I don't hate.)
